INTRODUCTION TO TRADE:
Computer Operator & Programming Assistant is a computer operating craftsman trade. Computer Operating and Programming trade introduces how to operate and manage the use of hardware systems, networks, minicomputers, control a single or group of mainframe computers, setting functional controls and codes as instructed by programmers and other types of systems.
The duration of the course is one year with two semesters of six months each. The trade is innovative and career orienting for students as they can find jobs after its successful passing. There are many ITIs in the country offering this trade due to its demand in the hardware/software industries.

Students should have graduated 10th class examination of 10+2 pattern or an equivalent examination form a recognised school board in the country.

The syllabus can roughly be divided into two half yearly semesters

Computer Operator & Programming Assistant Trade Required Skills

Students should be able to monitor and ensure timely and efficient processing of production requests through computer systems as it required during the operation.

They should understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents; talking to others to convey information effectively and controlling operations of equipment or systems.

Students should also have the ability to assess their performance and others as well so as to make improvements or take corrective action.

They should know how to monitor system for equipment failure or errors in performance.
